Mark Your Calendars, ’66 — We’re “On the Route Again!”for Our 60th Reunion, May 21–24, 2026Hey Tigers, Yeah, you read that right — This Year is our 60th Reunion! Sixty years since we strutted out of Princeton thinking we had the world by the tail (and in some ways, we still do). So, before your grandkids fill up your May calendar with graduations, weddings, and who-knows-what, lock in the dates now: May 21–24, 2026. Because our 60th Reunion is going to be legendary. We’re “On the Route Again” — a nod to the miles we’ve traveled since ’66, the roads we’ve built, and yes, the P-rade route we’ll own once more in glorious orange and black. This is our last major reunion on the main campus.
Here's what's cookin'Thanks to Ken Krosin and Bob Nahas, this is some hot, world class entertainment you don’t want to miss! Thursday Night: The Cool Jazz Kickoff We’re easing into the weekend in style with The Chuck Braman Quartet — top-shelf jazz cats straight out of NYC, the kind who’ve played Birdland, the Blue Note, and Lincoln Center. Smooth sounds, good food, great conversation. You’ll be tapping your toes and wondering how it’s already been 60 years. Friday Night: The Dance Mechanics Rock the Tent after the Class Dinner Friday is the big dinner. Speeches, etc. The 50th jacket is recommended but not required. After the Dinner: Get ready to move it, groove it, and prove you’ve still got it. Ken Krosin and Bob Nahas have lined up The Dance Mechanics, a 12-piece band with horns, four vocalists, and enough energy to light up Holder Courtyard. They’ll be serving up our favorite hits from the ’60s through the ’80s. Think Motown meets Springsteen meets pure Princeton joy. Saturday Night: The Suits Bring Down the House Picture this — four sharp-dressed crooners belting out the soundtrack of our lives. The Suits are a song-and-dance powerhouse rolling through the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s. Guaranteed to get you smiling, singing, and maybe even spinning your partner one more time. Holder Hall HQ — Our Prime Spot! Thanks to Stu Steingold and the site team, we’ve scored Holder Courtyard as home base. It’s easy access, close to Nassau Street, and has both tented and indoor options in case the weather gods get frisky. And here’s a fun twist — we’ve got student crew chiefs Jackson Hicke and Skye Belker, both Princeton juniors and in Cannon Club, while both are also playing varsity basketball. They will be leading a crack crew of nine other students. These kids are smart, funny, and psyched to help make our 60th run smoother than the Cannon Green Room on a Saturday night. Lodging LogisticsJohn Edie and David Marshak have secured on-campus beds and a generous hotel block — 120 rooms across five local hotels. This link will take you to the discounted rates that John and Dave negotiated. If you are interested in on-campus housing, usually single beds in the dorms, you will find that information in the above link. If you haven’t yet, book your room now so you’re not bunking with your golf clubs. Food, Friends, and Fine BeveragesWalter Bliss and Andrew Littauer are on the case — think top-notch meals from University Catering (with a few surprise flourishes) and beverages that’ll keep spirits high. We’re even scouting out whether to hold our Sunday brunch in the stunning new Princeton Art Museum. Plastic cups with our logo? Sorry, Charlie! Sustainability is the new cool. But hey, you can always bring your vintage plastic cup from the 25th Reunion if you’re feeling retro. Alumni-Faculty Forums: The ’66 Brain TrustOur very own Charles Plohn is spearheading our class efforts for the Alumni-Faculty Forums, the intellectual soul of every reunion. There'll be 15 AFFs with approximately 50 panelists covering topics that matter - science, society, art, politics, and everything in between. Here's the deal: the panelists will be selected from the 13 major reunion classes (from the 5th to the 65th) and alums of the Graduate School - but Charles wants to make sure our class punches above its weight. While the process is already well under way, if you have any thoughts please reach out to Charles. Loved Ones & Families — Everyone’s WelcomeVirg Nahas and her Rainbow Ladies Club are making sure all loved ones — most particularly our classmates’ widows — feel right at home. Virg and the Rainbow Ladies will reach out to invite them to the Friday reception and Saturday P-rade. Because our 60th reunion is about all of us — every Tiger and every Tiger’s partner. The Great Princeton P-rade: Strut Your StuffYou know the drill: one long orange-and-black parade of joy, nostalgia, and serious fashion choices. We’ll have an open-air trolley for those who want to enjoy the P-Rade but would rather not walk the route. Rich Thomas and Mike Witte have outdone themselves on the design front — our 60th logo has been approved by the University and our 60th reunion shirts are crisp white button-downs embroidered with our custom mark — classy, timeless, and perfect for Holder Courtyard photos. Merch? Oh, we’ll have it. Tee shirts, Tiger shirts, even throwback jackets from our 50th and our now famous shirt from our 35th — all available at cost. Tom Mineo and Bill Lutz are working up the P-rade plan: banners, placards, and a pipes-and-drums band to lead us in with style. Expect signs featuring vintage class photos, some tongue-in-cheek history, and tributes to classmates who’ve gone ahead. It’ll be heartfelt and hilarious — the way we like it. Golf, Anyone?Walter Smedley has two foursomes booked at Springdale for Thursday morning. Right now, just two guys are signed up. Come on, folks — we know your swings aren’t what they used to be, but that’s what mulligans are for. To sign up for golf, e-mail Walter at waltersmedley@gmail.com. Memorial Service in the ChapelSaturday morning, Jim Parmentier and Tim Smith will lead us in remembrance at the Princeton Chapel. The names of our deceased friends will be read — a chance to honor our classmates and their families, and to reflect on what it means to have shared this long, winding journey together. Class Book & SurveyThe History and Class Book Committee — Jim Merritt, Bruce Leslie, and Henry Von Kohorn — are already rolling. The 60th Reunion Class Book will look just like the beloved 55th edition. We need you to update your profile on the class web site by January 15th. Our web site will be the content source for our 60th Class Book. Let’s make it rich with stories, photos, and reflections. We’ve all lived a lot of life since the last one. Thanks, Henry, for designing our survey. In the lead-up to past major reunions, the Class of 1966 has conducted a survey of its members. In anticipation of our 60th, we're doing so once again. Rather than looking back on how we’ve evolved since our college days, this year's effort aims to capture a snapshot of how we octogenarians are navigating and managing the later stages of our lives. Simply click HERE, and you'll be taken to the survey. Deadline - January 15. We think you'll find it to be both interesting and fun. Completing it should take no more than 15-20 minutes. We look forward to reporting the results in our 60th Reunion class book. Finance & RegistrationDave Sonnenberg and John Hart are on the job. The registration site is ready; jump on it early. There are early-bird discounts until February 15, and let’s be honest, bragging rights for those first hundred names on the list. When you register, you are registering with both the class and the university (your armbands will be ready). These two are the brains behind the bucks and the bandwidth. Dave is crunching the numbers while John—our resident tech whisperer—has built out the registration site like a pro. Together, they’re making sure your sign-up is smoother than a Nassau Street latte. Target attendance goal? 155 classmates, plus 130 guests and 25 kids — a new Princeton record for a 60th reunion. That’s right, we’re not just showing up — we’re setting the bar. Get ready for your official “On the Route Again” wristband to light up Old Nassau. Official University Cancellation Policy (we have no control over the policy): For cancellations before April 1, 2026 there will be a 75% refund. After April 1, 2026, no refunds can be issued. Tiger Turnout & Videos to RememberDave Lee, Charlie Emmons, and Steve Harwood are cooking up something special — short videos from classmates about what reunions mean to them and why the 60th is a can’t-miss event. We’re aiming for 100 sign-ups by February 1st, so warm up your webcams and your storytelling chops. Our Theme: “On the Route Again”It’s not just a slogan — it’s who we are. After all these years, we’re still curious, still connected, still creating. From the first chords of Thursday jazz to the last brunch toast on Sunday, we’ll be celebrating a life well-lived — and the friends who made it richer. So Here’s the AskGo grab that 2026 calendar — yes, the paper one on your kitchen wall and the one on your cell phone — and circle May 21–24, 2026 in bold orange ink. Call your old roommate, text your old flame (you know who), and start planning your return to Old Nassau. We’ve been through a lot, friends — from vinyl to streaming, from typewriters to TikTok — but the bonds we forged on the Princeton campus are still the real deal. This is our time to celebrate those bonds. Together. Your Class of ’66 60th Reunion Committee |
