Class of 1966 58th Reunion

May 24-25, 2024

Official Class of 1966 58th Reunion Report

A total of 34 '66ers gathered at Reunions this past weekend. Almost all came to dinner at Terhune; most had spouses or partners with them, quite a few had children and grandchildren.

The whole weekend was sunny and pleasant, a bit warm in mid afternoon but not like the sauna of our 50th. No mishaps of note. We were hosted by the 60th reunion class of '64. We gathered for pizza dinner Friday night, under a tent next to Alexander Hall. The P-rade gets longer every year, but we acquitted ourselves famously with both the now-famous Jay Lagemann tigers and a bagpipe band. Rumor is that a third tiger is in the works, so we may need an extra tiger puller to join Jay and Stu Steingold. Or we may recruit a strong student.

Terhune was wonderful, as always. Every class in the University is jealous of what Gary and Pam Mount do for us, and it's always the highlight of the weekend. This year we had the Tigerlilies sing for us again, including a Happy Birthday to Henry Von Kohorn for his 80th on the 24th. Jeff Shafer received a well deserved Locomotive Award. And we had a cake for everyone in '66 turning 80 this year, about half the class (we have classmates born as early as 1937 and as late as 1946).

Here are the classmates who were seen at some venue over the weekend. If we missed a name, please tell us and we'll correct the record: Bliss, Burnett, Cashdollar, Chen, Chidester, Cruikshank, D'Avella, Edie, Godich, Goroski, Harsh, Heminway, Holman, Kelso, Kerstetter, Krosin, Lagemann, Leslie, Littauer, Lumpkin, Maliszewski, Merritt, Mineo, Nahas, Nuessle, Plohn, Reid, Sachs, Seymour, Shafer, Sonnenberg, Steingold, Talcott, Woelk.

Only two years until our 60th!

Thanks to all from our Reunions Co-Chairs, Frank Nuessle and Jon Holman. And thanks from all to Frank and Jon, who appear in the top left of the university's reunion page at the top - taken at the PPRR celebration and cheer for Henry Von Kohorn.
