Michael P. Equi, Jr. (1944-2021)

Michael died August 13, 2021, during a brief hospital stay.

 

Michael came to Princeton from Holyoke, Massachusetts. He was a graduate of Holyoke High School.

 

Throuughout his life, Michael battled Friederich’s ataxia, a progressive degenerative movement disorder.

 

He left Princeton without graduating. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Boston College and a dentistry degree from Columbia University. He served in the Navy in the early 1970s.

 

Michael and his wife, Martha, settled in Cohasset, Massachusetts, where he established a dentistry practice in 1973. He practiced until 2006, when the effects of ataxia forced him to retire.

 

He was active in several Cohasset civic and community organizations, including the Jaycees and Rotary Club. He was a passionate Red Sox fan.

 

Martha predeceased Michael. He was survived by his children and grandchildren, to whom the Class extends its condolences.
