STEVEN K. INGERSOLL

Steven K. Ingersoll died on November 1, 1966 in Honolulu, where he was studying
psychological social work at the University of Hawaii. The Class is greatly saddened by
his death.

Steve was born in Philadelphia and came to Princeton from St. George’s School in
Newport, Rhode Island. Majoring in History, he wrote his thesis for Mr. Baugh on the
abolition of the slave trade in England. He was a member of Colonial Club.

Steve was always interested in people and their problems. He spent his summers
working in a state mental institution near Seattle and for the New Jersey Neuro-psychiatric
Clinic. He planned a career in social work. He will be remembered by his numerous
friends for his uniquely wry sense of humor and for his unusual generosity.

The Class of 1966 extends its deepest sympathy to his parents, Mr. Robert S. Ingersoll,
Jr. ’38 and Mrs. Archer Ingersoll, and to the other members of his family. (PAW, January
