Coincidentally, the former record holder, Kevin Guthrie ’84,  was sitting a few rows in front of us. I wondered to myself if Horsted caught more passes than any of the teams of our era, knowing how much more prevalent passing offenses have become. The answer is that he caught more passes than the ’63, ’64, ’65 teams combined.
    • ’63—28 of 70’ Singer led with 5 receptions. ’64—49 of 120; Tufts and Pizzarello with 15 each.’65--87 of 185; Cashdollar-30, Bedell-16. Total- 164 of 375. For comparison, the ’51 undefeated team was 89 of 149.
