Dear Friends in the Great Class of 1966,

Congratulations to the wonderful Class of 1966 for winning the Class of 1947 James Scott Clancy Memorial Reunion Trophy!  As you know, this award is given to the class with the best planned and run major reunion and it is the most coveted of all Reunions awards.

It was an easy decision for the members of the On-Campus Committee and Alumni Council Committee on Reunions as they were so impressed with your reunion from the early planning stages and throughout the Reunions weekend. "On the Road Again,” with Turk and Tiny at the helm and so many devoted committee members who all came together to pull off one fabulous and inclusive 50th! In addition, your student crew was well organized and dedicated to making sure things went smoothly. Our colleagues had nothing but positive things to say about the 50th student crew and applauded your strong relationship with former crew members from your 10th-45th reunions. Your reunion was a great example to future reunion classes -- three cheers to all of you for leading this effort.  It was a job well done!

I am also happy to report that in addition to the Clancy, the Class of 1966 has won The Alumni Council Committee on Reunions 2016 Award for Innovation.  This award is given in recognition of a particular innovation that expanded the dimension of Reunions and was not otherwise recognized. The Committee on Reunions would like to recognize the Class of 1966 for developing a strong relationship with your grandchild class, the Class of 2016 starting with their Pre-rade in September of 2012. At Reunions, you invited your grandchild class to show their Senior Slideshow at your reunion site, sponsored a comedy event ("Comedy After Coffee”) with the Class of 2016, and demonstrated how to give a heartfelt Locomotive Cheer prior to the senior class photo on the steps of Blair Arch. In addition, you celebrated the "grandparent-grandchild classes” relationship in the P-rade, with the Class of 2016 leadership carrying a ’66-’16 banner while marching with ’66. The mentorship and friendship you developed with the Class of 2016 has inspired other classes to follow suit.

The Clancy Award and the COR Award for Innovation will be officially presented to your class at the annual Alumni Council Luncheon, on the Friday of Reunions 2017 (June 2).  You will receive an invitation this spring to attend the luncheon.  In the meantime, we hope you will share these wonderful achievements with your classmates.

Anthony Fittizzi ’97, Chair of the Committee on Reunions, Kimberly, and all of your friends at Maclean House join me in sending a big locomotive cheer to all of you and the Great Class of 1966 for not one but two Reunions awards!

Congratulations and Hip to the Bah!
